Wellness dictionary

Little ABC for your spa-break questions ...

In their treatment discriptions, wellness hotels often use technical terms, which are hard to understand for potential guests. We have therefore collected and defined the most relevant terms in our small wellness ABC. A tip: Our wellness dictionary also supports word requests. You don't need to know the exact wording.

Aqua Training

Aqua training is a sporty form of fitness-training

that is carried out in water. Exercises are “copied” from the land into the water. Training takes place in a pool in which everyone can stand. The strong water resistance makes training underwater five times more effective than on land. The buoyancy makes the body float in the water and lose weight, joints, muscles and spine are protected.

By using additional equipment (e.g. special swimming gloves or swimming boards) the intensity of aqua training can be increased, all large muscle groups are stressed. Aquatraining is suitable for everyone - from recreational athletes to competitive athletes to rehabilitation patients, because after injuries the body gets used to movements much more quickly and gently than on land. Aquatraining is considered a very pleasant and gentle form of training and is versatile. Different variants such as aqua aerobics or aqua jogging offer the right program for every type.
