Wellness dictionary

Little ABC for your spa-break questions ...

In their treatment discriptions, wellness hotels often use technical terms, which are hard to understand for potential guests. We have therefore collected and defined the most relevant terms in our small wellness ABC. A tip: Our wellness dictionary also supports word requests. You don't need to know the exact wording.

Idogo-Walking

What is Idogo-Walking and what does it do?

Idogo Walking has originally been developed as a training aid for Tai Chi students, but is these days also very popular as a walk and running companion. Idogo means something like: "I do go": " I can tackle it, I can do more." It has been scientifically proven that the wooden stick supports its users a lot while walking.

A studiy of the Institute for preventive and sports medicine in Stuttgart showed that if one walks with the wand, it is possible to increase breathing capacity by up to 14 percent, which in turn helps to burn calories. Whether you are walking or running, the wand is always used in the same way: One takes the two spherical end pieces in his/her hands in a relaxed manner. Hold that wooden stick loosely in front of your body at navel height, palms facing up.

  • Important: Let your awms swing with you as you woulld with normal walking.
  • Effect: The rotating movement of the ball ends in the hands activate acupuncture points and improve the energy circulation.
  • Arm and shoulders move along harmoniously. Exercise at least 2 to 3 times a week, ideally each session should last about 30 to 40 minutes.
  • In the end, don't forget to stretch to loosen muscles!
