Discover Northern Germany, the Bavarian Garmisch-Partenkirchen and the Netherlands

Lundenbergsand Hotel and Spa ****

Simonsberg, Northern Germany

The focus is on wellness at the Wadden Sea – the salty air and the rough charm of Germany’s North Sea coast give an ideal setting to this charming thatched hotel run by the Peters’ family. This exclusive hotel is directly located on the North Sea’s protected coast. Guests can leave their daily life behind, switch off and experience walking off the beaten track where nothing disturbs the peace and tranquillity – just a few steps from the North Sea. In the Watt’n Spa, guests can indulge in the products of Northern Germany like algae, mud, sea salt and minerals, all elements of their specially developed beauty programmes. The hotel also prides itself in using fresh, regional ingredients in the cuisine.

Hotel Zugspitze ****

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria

The focus is on the typically welcoming Bavarian hospitality against the backdrop of the magnificent Bavarian Alps. The Zugspitze Hotel is nestled within the Alps in the Spa town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. In the ‘AlmWell’ Spa, regional products such as alpine herbs, goat butter cream and mountain salt are used. A combination of traditional knowledge with modern treatment methods induces a sense of wellbeing for the mind and body. The tranquility and the pure mountain air offer the perfect surroundings to relax and do a variety of sport and leisure activities. Guests can relax and enjoy the cosy atmosphere in the ‘Zugspitz Stadl’ bar or the ‘Josef Naus Stub’n’ restaurant or by simply sampling a selection of traditional regional food by the fire.

Thermen Bussloo Wellness and Hotel ****s

Gelderland, Netherlands

The focus is on a huge Asian inspired wellness garden. In this extensive spa, measuring 3,200 square metres, guests can experience a fascinating wellness trip around the world. There is plenty to experience from a Finnish Kelo sauna as well as a spa grotto from the Himalayas and Tibetan sound massages. The spa is also open for day guests. The large nudist area, with a variety of saunas and whirlpools, directly borders the sandy beach at the Bussloo Lake. Here, walking, cycling and running can be enjoyed. This spacious hotel opened in 2012 and is situated next to a thermal bath and welcomes guests in tranquil, tastefully decorated rooms incorporating Asian elements individually selected by the owners. An impressive illuminated underground tunnel leads hotel guests into the spa.
