Wellness dictionary

Little ABC for your spa-break questions ...

In their treatment discriptions, wellness hotels often use technical terms, which are hard to understand for potential guests. Aroha combines expressive movements of the Maori's war dance (HAKA) with components of Kong Fu and Tai Chi. Kicking and beating as well as the imitation of various animals in different attack and defensive positions are remarkable for Kong Fu. The influence of Tai Chi makes the movements fluent.

Aroha is a suitable training for every age group and for every level of fitness. The exercise units are conducted in a moderate pace. Because of the repeated flexing and stretching of the lower body, especially the gluteus and thigh musculature is trained. But also shoulders, belly and upper arm muscles get in shape due to the varying contraction and relaxation of muscles. Besides that, Aroha strengthens the cardio vascular system. All exercises are integrated in the dance.
