In their treatment discriptions, wellness hotels often use technical terms, which are hard to understand for potential guests. We have therefore collected and defined the most relevant terms in our small wellness ABC. A tip: Our wellness dictionary also supports word requests. You don't need to know the exact wording.

Body Art

Body Art is a more intense training than Aroha. Based on the 5 elements of the Traditional Chinese Medicine it takes a holistic approach by viewing and training the human as unity of body, soul and spirit.

Body Art belongs to the category of recreational sport. It's a functional training session, where different muscle groups are activated. Static and dynamic movements alternate here. With the help of Body Art exercises strength, flexibility and balance are built up. The training starts with breathing and warm-up exercises.  After, the muscles are strengthened and flexed with special exercises. Here, body awareness plays the key role. Relaxation and endurance exercises alternate. As the sport includes many swing exercises also the fasciae are trained.

Body art improves stabilisation, coordination and even body posture. It can also help to prevent back pain.
