The Romantik® Hotel Oberwirt in Marling has been a place of genuine hospitality for over 520 years and is one of the most traditional establishments in South Tyrol. Since 1496, the hotel has been run by the Waldner family and is now in its 11th and 12th generation.
Hosts Josef and Barbara Waldner shape the hotel with true South Tyrolean warmth and, together with their team, create an atmosphere in which guests feel welcome from the very first moment.

Our wellness hotel is located
The hotel is located in Marling, above Merano on the sunny southern side of the Alps. Surrounded by vineyards and mountain scenery, the location offers an ideal combination of peace, nature, and proximity to the spa town of Merano.
Arrival with car
You can easily reach the Romantik® Hotel Oberwirt by car via the South Tyrolean road network. Current traffic information is available through the traffic report of the Province of Bolzano/Merano as well as the Brenner motorway.
Arrival with train
Marling train station is located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. On request, you can be picked up free of charge from Marling station or Merano station. In addition, South Tyrol is very well connected to the public transport network via an extensive and well-developed transport system.
Arrival with plane
There are three airports located near the hotel: Bolzano (approx. 30 minutes away), Innsbruck, and Verona (each about 1.5 hours away). A paid transfer service can be arranged upon request.
Special Arrival Information
For onward travel from train or long-distance bus stations, the South Tyrol Transfer service is also available: from various stations and stops in South Tyrol, you can conveniently travel directly to your accommodation by shared or private transfer and return again after your stay.
