The Romantik® Hotel Stryckhaus looks back on a long tradition and has been operated as a hotel for over 60 years. The former country house was built in 1912 by the Worpswede Art Nouveau painter Heinrich Vogeler and still combines elegant architecture with modern hospitality today.
Host Dieter Fritsche runs the hotel with passion and, together with his team, focuses on a successful combination of tradition, comfort, and personal service.
Set in the middle of a spacious park in the Hochsauerland region, the Romantik® Hotel Stryckhaus combines peace, nature, and an elegant atmosphere. The historic country house features many details from the Art Nouveau period while also offering modern comfort at a high level.

Our wellness hotel is located
The hotel is idyllically located in the Stryck Valley near Willingen in the Hochsauerland region, set within extensive park grounds. Its quiet setting with views of greenery provides ideal conditions for relaxation and outdoor activities. The hotel is also just a 3-minute drive and about a 20-minute walk from the center of Willingen.
Arrival with car
You can easily reach the Romantik® Hotel Stryckhaus via the region’s motorways. From Kassel or Dortmund, take the A44 to the Anröchte/Erwitte exit, then continue via Brilon to Willingen. Alternatively, you can travel via the A7 or A5 towards Kassel and then continue via Korbach to Willingen. The hotel is located in the Stryck district and is well signposted.
Arrival with train
By train, you need to travel to Willingen station. Connections are available, including via Kassel-Wilhelmshöhe and Brilon Wald.
Arrival with plane
The nearest airports are in Kassel, Paderborn/Lippstadt, and Frankfurt. From there, you can conveniently reach Willingen by train or rental car.
