Qigong – history
The roots of Qigong reach far back into China's history. The first reliable reports date from between 770 and 221 BC. It is one of the oldest Chinese meditation and therapy techniques. The spread of Buddhism in China also led to the spread of Qi Gong. In the traditional form of Qi Gong it is about the "guidance of Qi". Qi is presented as a universal, spiritual force that animates both the universe and all beings. Essentially there are two forms of Qi Gong: a form with relatively many movements and the completely motionless "silent Qi Gong".
Why should one practice Qigong?

According to the teachings, emotional imbalance also leads to a blockage of qi. This should be dissolved by the concentrated movement exercises of Qi Gong.

- conscious breathing,
- movement and
- the control of the imagination.
