Wellness in a palace hotel
The Göbel’s Schlosshotel ‘Prinz von Hessen’ is located in the centre of Germany, in Friedwald close to Bad Hersfeld. This hunting castle was rebuilt in 1997 and transformed into a five star palace hotel combining an historic building with a modern interior.
The wellness hotel’s Schlosspark is perfect for walks to explore the medieval castle and discover the herb garden, which supplies the hotel with fresh herbs.
Guests can relax in the spa and sauna area with various saunas like the Schwitzstube, a steam bath, a bio or infrared sauna as well as the indoor or outdoor pool and whirlpools. The panoramic relaxation room has large windows offering a fantastic view of the countryside surrounding the Göbel’s Schlosshotel ‘Prinz von Hessen’. Those who prefer to be more active can use the panoramic gym with its various cardio machines. The qualified spa team has several baths, massages, facial and body treatments, cosmetics from the Far East and relaxation seminars on offer.
In the spa and sauna area (extended to 1,600m² from Easter 2014) guests can choose from several saunas like a sweat lodge, a steam bath, a bio sauna and an infrared cabin. The 30 degree Celsius indoor swimming pool is ideal to swim a few lengths or be massaged by the massage jets in the 36 degree Celsius Jacuzzi. In good weather, there is also the possibility to use the outdoor pool and wellness garden. Guests can enjoy a little break in the spa bistro and in the various relaxation rooms. A relaxation room with 20 floating beds is accessible via a lift located in the pool area. If the weather is good, the large panoramic windows can be completely opened to enjoy the view of the countryside.
There are 15 treatment rooms available for massages and beauty treatments. The treatments include wellness baths, wraps, exfoliations, wellness massages, exotic and ayurvedic massage rituals. There is a private spa suite on-hand for couples.
The beauty lounge offers classic cosmetic facial treatments, rejuvenating cosmetics and anti aging treatments.
Discover the festival town of Bad Hersfeld, with its popular open air festivals or the Wartburg castle as well as the cities of Kassel, Fulda and Eisenach, all of which are approximately an hour’s drive away. Closer to the hotel, there are castles, palaces, mines or city tours to add variety. Visitors can explore the 25 kilometre Merkers mine and descend 800 metres to discover a fascinating world with its crystal grotto and an underground museum in the former Kali mine.
Chef Jose Estevez and his team are responsible for our culinary excellence, something which is very important to the Göbel’s Schlosshotel ‘Prinz von Hessen’. The Frenchman, with his Spanish roots, is convinced that the most important aspect to an exquisite and healthy gourmet cuisine are fresh products from known sources. He not only uses seasonal and regional products but he has also developed a kitchen garden in the grounds of the palace, where he grows herbs, berries and flowers to use in his cuisine.
Guests can enjoy the creative cuisine in one of the five restaurants, the Prinzenstube, the Prinzesscafé, the palace garden or on the palace terrace.
The 7 degree house bar and the wine cellar invite you to finish off your day with a quality wine, an exotic cocktail or a freshly drafted beer.
