Little ABC for your spa-break questions ...
In their treatment discriptions, wellness hotels often use technical terms, which are hard to understand for potential guests. We have therefore collected and defined the most relevant terms in our small wellness ABC. A tip: Our wellness dictionary also supports word requests. You don't need to know the exact wording.

What is meant by permanent make-up?
In principle, permanent make-up is nothing more than a tattoo on the upper skin layer. It is a permanent and permanent decorative cosmetic. One understands by it the production of absolutely wash and smudge-proof eyelid line drawings, eyebrow supplements, the embellishment of lip contours and the colour refreshment of the lips. As it cannot be removed at will, it should above all look natural. You should also take a few days to consider before this procedure, as permanent make-up only fades after a few years.
Permanent make-up - What happens during the treatment?
First of all a comprehensive consultation should take place. Before the procedure, the cosmetician draws the contours of the permanent make-up with a pencil. Then, under local anaesthetic, the pigments are inserted under the skin with an extremely thin, sterile disposable needle. Mineral or synthetic colour pigments are injected through these needles into the skin surface above the small blood vessels. A special blocking system ensures that the needles only penetrate the epidermis, unlike normal tattoos, which are injected deep under the skin. The pigments used for this should have been tested in laboratories beforehand to avoid causing allergies.
Two to three weeks later there will be a follow-up treatment. This involves corrections to the make-up if colour pigments have been unevenly repelled or the contours need to be reworked. Immediately after the treatment, reddening of the skin and slight swelling must be expected for one to two weeks. Visits to the sauna, sun exposure and solarium should also be avoided. The treated areas must be treated with a special care cream.
