Wellness dictionary

Little ABC for your spa-break questions ...

In their treatment discriptions, wellness hotels often use technical terms, which are hard to understand for potential guests. We have therefore collected and defined the most relevant terms in our small wellness ABC. A tip: Our wellness dictionary also supports word requests. You don't need to know the exact wording.

Aqua massage bed

Aqua massage bed: What is meant by it?

When having an aqua massage bed treatment, the water is heated to between 25 and 40 degrees. High pressure water (0.5 to 4 bars) moves against the surface in rhythmic movements to generate a head to toe massage effect on the body. Guests do not come into contact with the water, but lie fully clothed on a bed, similar to a heated water bed. The pressure and speed of the massage can be individually adjusted according to body length. There are different types of massage e.g. rotating, stroking or pulsating.  Depending on individual needs, separate areas of the body can be individually massaged.

Aqua massage improves blood circulation to the skin, muscles and organs. The muscles are loosened and tension is decreased. An aqua massage lasts for approximately 15 to 20 minutes.
