Brain gym

What is Brain-Gym?

Brain-gym is a method used to activate and improve learning, concentration and brain performance. Contrary to brain jogging, brain gym is not just about solving quizzes, it also involves physical activity. Brain gym consists of a series of simple physical exercises which makes learning easier.

Doctor Carla Hannaford, neurophysiologist and teacher, believes that learning does not just occur in the head but is a complex process which involves the entire body. Doctor Hannaford thinks that learning without exercising is ineffective and incomplete. Therefore, it is important to constantly move in order to work intellectually. For example, it is impossible not to read without moving the eyes.

In the seventies, Doctor Paul Dennison developed a system of kinesiology (kinesiology for education and school). Doctor Dennison assumed that learning difficulties often related to blockages in the brain, which could be loosened through doing particular exercises, improving learning performance. Brain gym is suitable for people of any age. It reduces stress and increases concentration, resulting in a better quality of life.
